“The Invisible Girl”

Have you ever met,
The Invisible Girl?
She was one of a kind,
And she’d make your head swirl.

She was loving and kind,
And to set her apart.
Beating deep in her chest,
Was a generous heart.

So what was it about her,
That means she can’t be seen?
And why she wished most of her life,
Had been a bad dream.

Well, she was once quite a beauty,
And commanded a crowd.
All men would want her,
As she stood tall and proud.

But all of these qualities,
Just didn’t matter.
As with each passing guy,
She only got sadder.

There were the ones who wanted more,
And other women they’d chase.
Leaving our girl heartbroken,
As tears ran down her face.

Then there were the others,
Abusing body and soul.
Leaving her broken and bereft,
When they’d finally go.

With each relationship past,
Her soul got slightly dimmer.
Until all that was left,
Was scarcely a glimmer.

So The Invisible Girl,
Who was once a radiant light.
With all of her life,
So beautiful and bright.

Is now worn out and weary,
And after years of being focus.
The Invisible Girl, now sadly,
Will slip by, unnoticed.
